About The Position

The Maintenance position performs preventive and corrective maintenance in the plant under management supervision. This role involves performing preventative maintenance on all plant equipment, including machine repair and installation such as replacing motors, gear boxes, screw conveyors, threading piping, welding piping, repairing/replacing pumps, and using a cutting torch. The position also includes conducting daily greasing and oiling of plant equipment, diagnosing and replacing equipment parts with minimal direction, and maintaining a clean work area. The employee is responsible for using assigned personal protective equipment and safety equipment, adhering to all Company safety rules and regulations, and attending safety meetings. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 - year experience in industrial maintenance.
• Minimum of 2 - years experience with stick/arc welding.
• Minimum of 1-year experience using a plasma cutter and oxygen acetylene torch.
• Minimum of 1-year operating arial lifts.
• Must be able to work rotating weekend shifts

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a slaughter/rendering plant
• Experience with high pressure boilers. Blowdowns, chemical testing etc.
• High mechanical aptitude; able to diagnosis repair problems with motors and other equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance on all plant equipment.
• Performs machine repair and installation such as replacing motors, gear boxes, screw conveyors, threading piping, weld piping, repair/replace pumps and uses cutting torch.
• Conducts daily greasing and oiling of plant equipment as needed.
• Diagnosis and replacement of equipment parts with little or no direction.
• Maintains clean, neat, and orderly work area at all times.
• Responsible for using assigned personal protective equipment and required safety equipment; responsible for being familiar with and observing all Company safety rules and regulations.
• Attends regularly scheduled safety meetings and may be asked to serve on Safety Committee.
• All other duties as assigned.
