About The Position

The Care Group (TCG) provides high-quality residential care services to complex care clients in 8 homes across the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island. We are seeking a Handyman/Woman Maintenance Worker to join our Sidney Care team in Sidney, B.C. This role involves approximately 20-30 hours per week with flexible availability, including occasional on-call duties for emergencies. The ideal candidate will live nearby.

Requirements

• Experience in building or facility maintenance.
• Knowledge of and capability to complete tasks relating to general painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and gardening.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
• COVID-19 Vaccine.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to maintain a checklist record of maintenance routines
• Ability to communicate professionally with residents, staff, and visitors
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs, move furniture, pick up deliveries from hardware stores
• Must be physically fit, adaptable, and is an effective team member
• Flexible availability, sometimes on-call (emergency) so preferably to live close by.

Responsibilities

• Inspects operating condition of all equipment daily.
• Inspects alarm, call, and security systems and logs information daily.
• Diagnoses equipment malfunctions.
• Ensures the safety of the building, equipment, staff, and residents.
• Completes general repairs to electrical, plumbing, and other building components commensurate with the capabilities of an experienced maintenance trade person.
