About The Position

Justice Resource Institute (JRI), in partnership with the Department of Youth Services (DYS), is seeking a Maintenance Worker in Taunton, MA. This position is for a Maintenance Worker/Custodian within a secure program setting. The schedule is Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with a 30-minute lunch. The pay range for this position is $19.00 to $23.00 per hour. Requirements

• Must be at least 21 yrs old.
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Professional experience in maintenance/custodial work.
• Adherence to standard preventative maintenance procedures.
• Knowledge of safety practices and procedures.
• Must be available to work through snow storms and post-storm clean up (paid at overtime!)
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Acceptable state/federal background checks.

Responsibilities

• Performs general cleaning and custodial/janitorial tasks within a locked juvenile facility.
• Responsible for daily cleaning, i.e. bathrooms, trash collection, buffing floors, cleaning windows, etc.
• Performs security checks of the building to ensure all doors are properly secure.
• Maintains an accurate daily inventory of all tools and equipment used daily.
• Adjust work schedule to meet needs of the program and ensure unit schedules are observed, especially during periods of inclement weather.
• Maintain high standards of professionalism by exhibiting pride and knowledge in performance.
• Follow all JRI and DYS Program Policies and Procedures.
• Other related job duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
