About The Position

Maravilla Santa Barbara is hiring a full-time Maintenance Worker to support its upscale retirement community. The role involves responding to resident repair requests, preparing vacant apartments for new renters, performing preventative maintenance, responding to urgent maintenance issues, and maintaining the property’s grounds and safety. The anticipated pay rate is $23 to $25 per hour.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, and HVAC systems.
• Ability to use hand and power tools, multimeters, and diagnostic equipment.
• Good customer service and communication skills when interacting with residents and staff.
• A valid driver’s license is often required.

Nice To Haves

• EPA certification for handling HVAC refrigerants may be required in some cases.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily resident work orders, including repairs involving plumbing leaks, broken appliances, and electrical issues.
• Prepare vacant apartments for new renters by painting, cleaning, and making repairs.
• Inspect building systems, HVAC filters, lighting, and common areas to prevent breakdowns.
• Respond to urgent after-hours issues, such as gas leaks, major water breaks, or electrical failures.
• Maintain the property’s appearance, clear walkways, and follow safety and building codes.
• Provide customer service and communicate with residents and staff.
