About The Position

The Maintenance Worker performs routine and comprehensive general maintenance and cleaning of the facility and its equipment, individually or as part of a team. The role ensures compliance with Urban Pathways’ requirements and those of funding and regulatory agencies. The Maintenance Worker maintains, cleans, repairs, and helps ensure the safety of the building; assesses maintenance needs; and coordinates with the Director of Operations to develop a preventative maintenance plan. Duties also include floor care, painting, changing light bulbs, and minor repairs. The position reports to the Director of Operations and/or Operations Supervisor.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of experience in building maintenance and janitorial duties, or equivalent experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification required within three months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with homeless people and people living with mental illness and substance abuse preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred.
• OSHA license is a plus.
• AED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, clean, repair, and help ensure the safety of the building as instructed by the Director of Operations.
• Mop, clean, strip, and buff floors according to schedule.
• Assess facility maintenance needs consistently.
• Maintain the physical facility in proper order and coordinate with the Director of Operations on a preventative maintenance plan.
• Paint, change light bulbs, and perform minor repairs.
