Job Description: CHARACTERISTIC JOB DUTIES: The incumbent is responsible for the following range of job duties characteristic, or typical of the job class: Implements preventative maintenance procedures for related equipment, recommends and performs minor and some moderate repairs (program vehicles, faucet, toilets, and light fixtures) Undertakes minor renovation projects, including dry walling, minor electrical repairs, painting and plumbing Conducts minor troubleshooting of building systems Assists in developing specifications for tenders and in monitoring quality of workmanship of outside contractors and/or maintenance personnel Ensures supplies are received, stored, and redistributed to the appropriate departments Food and other pickups and deliveries Performs other duties as assigned NOTE: Not all incumbents perform all of the duties described above but perform a similar range of duties. MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL ATTAINED: The successful job applicant will have completed High School. NOTE: An alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable. SPECIAL LICENSES, DIPLOMAS, CERTIFICATIONS OR REQUIREMENTS: The successful applicant will hold/have: See Precautionary Measures MINIMUM PRIOR RELATED EXPERIENCE: The incumbent must have the following experience before hire: One year but less than three years of prior related experience, including custodial, computer skills and general repairs (i.e. electrical & plumbing) experience. PHYSICAL EFFORT/DEXTERITY REQUIRED: The performance of the job requires operating industrial testing equipment and tools, painting/plastering, bending/twisting/lifting, and occasional ladder work and fine motor skills (when working with small pieces of equipment in confined areas). CONCENTRATION REQUIRED: The performance of the job requires frequent use of fine motor skills, and moderate attention when reading equipment manuals (for safe operating instructions). RESPONSIBILITY FOR FINANCIAL RESOURCES: The incumbent’s responsibility for Financial Resources: The incumbent is involved in minor financial matters regularly, or on a relief basis, or has responsibility for the wise use of his/her own resources. He/She may be authorized to spend, disburse, or collect small amounts of cash. The incumbent has very little input into the annual budget. RESPONSIBILITY FOR HUMAN RESOURCES: The incumbent’s responsibility for Human Resources: The incumbent is responsible for his/her own time and effort only. He/She may demonstrate work methods to new employees, volunteers and/or students. The target hiring range for this position is $18.57 with a maximum of $20.98 Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role. Compensation: The target hiring range for this position is $19.12 to $20.37 with a maximum of $21.61.
