About The Position

A maintenance worker performs various types of work from skilled trades including welding, machining, mechanics, carpentry, or masonry. This role involves working on factory, automotive, and field equipment and facilities.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with the proper operation of various types of equipment used in welding, machining, mechanics, carpentry, and masonry.
  • Ability to assemble, install, maintain, and repair factory, automotive, and field equipment and facilities.
  • Proficiency in at least one of the skilled trades: welding, machining, mechanics, carpentry, or masonry.
  • Ability to drive automobiles and trucks and check vehicle condition.
  • Adherence to standard safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Performs simple layout work and prepares materials.
  • Welds parts, uses oxy/acetylene cutting torch, and fabricates parts for installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and facilities.
  • Operates various welding equipment such as punch machines, shears, drill sharpeners, and saws.
  • Machines parts, uses metal lathes and milling machines, and fabricates parts for installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and facilities.
  • Operates machining equipment such as drill presses, drill sharpeners, and hydraulic presses.
  • Assembles, installs, maintains, and repairs factory, shop, and field equipment, machinery, and facilities.
  • Uses tools and equipment such as forklifts, chain falls, wrenches, rulers, calipers, air impact wrenches, bearing pullers, gauges, drills, and hydraulic jacks.
  • Assembles, installs, maintains, and repairs factory, shop, and field equipment, machinery, and facilities using carpentry skills.
  • Uses carpentry tools and equipment such as forklifts, scaffolding, hammers, levels, squares, power saws, belt sanders, pneumatic nailers, drills, and routers.
  • Assembles, installs, maintains, and repairs factory, shop, and field facilities using masonry skills.
  • Uses masonry tools and equipment such as forklifts, scaffolding, hammers, levels, squares, trowels, power saws, concrete saws, drills, portable cement mixers, bull floats, and whirlybirds.
  • Drives automobiles and trucks, ensuring vehicles are in proper working condition.
  • Cleans the working area.
  • Observes standard safety regulations.
  • Performs other related work as required by a supervisor.
