About The Position

CoreCivic is seeking a Maintenance Worker to help provide high-quality care in an institutional, secure setting. The role installs, maintains, and repairs facility building structures and systems, including plumbing, electrical wiring and fixtures, machinery, equipment, electronics, vehicles, and grounds. The worker maintains and repairs the facility’s physical structure in support of safe and secure operations, inspects and diagnoses machinery and equipment issues, and performs repairs and preventive maintenance. The role also involves supervising and tracking inmates or residents assigned to the Maintenance Department.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent.
• Two years of experience in general maintenance or construction; additional equivalent technical or trade school courses in a maintenance- or construction-related field may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair facility building structures and systems, including plumbing, electrical wiring and fixtures, machinery, equipment, electronics, vehicles, and grounds.
• Maintain and repair the facility’s physical structure in keeping with safe and secure operations.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair machines and equipment.
• Install or repair electrical apparatus, including wiring or electronic components of machinery and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment according to the preventive maintenance plan.
• Provide proper supervision and tracking of inmates or residents assigned to the Maintenance Department.
