The City’s Roads & Stormwater Division is looking for a dependable and motivated Maintenance Worker to join our Public Works team. In this role, you’ll provide semi-skilled and skilled labor that helps maintain the infrastructure our community relies on every day. From supporting roadway maintenance to helping keep our stormwater systems functioning effectively, your work will have a direct and visible impact on the safety, appearance, and quality of life of our community. Requirements

  • High School graduation or GED equivalent is preferred.
  • Maintenance of a valid State of Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License or ability to obtain within 150 days of employment which meets requirements outlined in the city's personal rules and regulation manual with an acceptable driving history.
  • Required to have the below listed certifications or the ability to obtain within 150 days of employment: Stormwater Level 1, Maintenance of Traffic Level 1, Trenching and Shoring, Confined Space, Forklift Operator, FEMA 100, 200, 700, 800

Responsibilities

  • Operates dump truck and flatbed truck.
  • Works with and assist heavy equipment operator.
  • Operates heavy equipment on an as needed basis.
  • Assists with installation and repair of storm water sewer lines.
  • Assists with repair, removal and installation of sidewalks and walkways.
  • Assists with forming, pouring, and finishing concrete.
  • Removes and repairs asphalt.
  • Performs regular routine maintenance and service of trucks and equipment.
  • Performs related work as assigned.
