About The Position

This role involves performing preventive maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and inspections for all hospital mechanical systems. Key responsibilities include working with HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, boiler rooms, and various other hospital equipment and facilities. The position also requires attention to grounds maintenance and ensuring the proper functioning of safety and emergency systems.

Requirements

  • Skilled in preventive maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and inspections of hospital mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency with HVAC systems (pneumatic controls, mixed air controllers, thermostats, heat and cooling controls valves and dampers).
  • Experience with computerized building management systems (Trane and Delta systems).
  • Knowledge of rooftop units and chillers (Trane, McQuay, Aaon & KKT).
  • Experience with plumbing (steam and condensate piping, traps, strainers, pumps, hot water heaters, toilets, sinks, drains, water softeners, sprinkler systems, ice and water machines).
  • Familiarity with electrical systems (generators, circuit breakers, fuses, lighting, ballasts, cords, fixtures, exit lighting, emergency lighting).
  • Experience in boiler room operations (steam and hot water boilers, water testing and treatment).
  • Ability to perform grounds maintenance tasks (snowplowing, shoveling, salting).
  • Experience with patient equipment (electrical and mechanical beds, nurse call systems).
  • Proficiency in repairing doors, windows, and locks.
  • Experience with painting and wall repair.
  • Knowledge of hospital emergency equipment, fire systems, and commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to perform roof and roof drain maintenance.
  • Must be able to perform inspections as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with specific equipment like Copper Ion system, patient electrical and mechanical beds, alarm systems, door/wall tiling, televisions, washing machines, dryers, refrigerators.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and inspections relating to all hospital mechanicals.
  • Manage HVAC systems including pneumatic controls, mixed air controllers, thermostats, heat and cooling control valves and dampers.
  • Utilize computerized building management systems such as Trane and Delta systems.
  • Service Trane, McQuay, Aaon & KKT rooftop units and chillers.
  • Perform filter changes.
  • Handle plumbing tasks including steam and condensate piping, traps and strainers.
  • Maintain pumps such as sewer ejector, sump, ground water, fuel oil, vacuum, recirculate and condensate pumps.
  • Service hot water heaters, toilets, sinks, tub/shower and drains, water softener systems, sprinkler systems, Copper Ion systems, and ice and water machines.
  • Address electrical needs including MTU and Detroit Generators, resetting circuit breakers, changing fuses, and working with fluorescent lighting, ballasts, cords, fixtures, exit lighting, and emergency lighting.
  • Operate and maintain the boiler room, including steam and hot water boilers, and perform boiler water testing and treatment.
  • Perform snowplowing, snow blowing, shoveling, and salting.
  • Maintain patient electrical and mechanical beds and equipment, and the patient nurse call system.
  • Service washing machines, dryers, refrigerators, and televisions.
  • Repair doors, windows, and locks.
  • Maintain alarm systems and door/wall tiling.
  • Perform painting and wall repair.
  • Oversee hospital emergency equipment, fire systems, fireproofing, and commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain clinics and roof/roof drain maintenance.
  • Conduct inspections as required.
