About The Position

Provide quality cleanliness oversight to assigned building(s). This role involves maintaining cleanliness in assigned areas, carrying out minor repairs, and ensuring the upkeep of the building exterior, including snow and ice removal and grounds maintenance. The position also supports special events, manages maintenance tools and supplies, assists with moving items, and prepares apartments for new residents. Adherence to company policies and willingness to assist in emergencies are crucial. A clean and presentable uniform is required.

Requirements

  • At least one year of maintenance & cleaning experience in a large residential or Program setting.
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred.
  • Experience working within a Supportive Housing setting is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas within the facility, including floor care, cleaning bathrooms, emptying trash and recyclables, wiping windows and walls, and cleaning stairways.
  • Carry out minor repairs and building maintenance throughout assigned areas of the facility.
  • Responsible for exterior snow and ice removal as well as upkeep of the grounds, including sidewalk maintenance and maintaining landscaping.
  • Assist Staff with special events by setting up chairs and tables and ensuring the area is clean and safe.
  • Maintain building maintenance tools and machinery to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Order cleaning supplies, paper supplies, lightbulbs, garbage bags, etc., and maintain biweekly inventory if no superintendent is present.
  • Assist in moving and storing program supplies, office furniture, office equipment, dorm furniture, consumer belongings, and other items.
  • Comply with all SUS Employee Policies, Procedures and Protocols and SUS Cooperate Compliance Policies.
  • Willing to assist when EMERGENCIES arise in the Facility.
  • Must wear SUS maintenance uniform and maintain uniform so that it is clean and presentable at the start of each shift.
  • Complete other tasks assigned by Director or Superintendent.
  • Attend staff meetings, group supervision, and trainings as needed.
  • Assist with apartment turn over following move outs, including plastering, sanding walls and painting; transporting resident and property to new apartment/unit.
