About The Position

Under direction of the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager, the Maintenance Worker L1, L2, L3 is responsible for the upkeep of the equipment and facility, checking work orders daily to perform all maintenance duties and repairs, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting. This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Must have a valid driver’s license & ability to travel between Wisconsin locations
  • Ability to identify potential issues or hazards
  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Time management skills/ ability to prioritize
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively and independently communicate information to other employees in the organization, as well as to outside vendors (if necessary) when troubleshooting equipment
  • Regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Occasionally required to walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience preferred in a steel/metal manufacturing setting
  • Building maintenance (plumbing, carpentry, painting, groundskeeping) preferred
  • Experience providing routine preventative maintenance preferred
  • Experience providing manufacturing equipment troubleshooting and repair preferred

Responsibilities

  • Completes required preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and other equipment
  • Troubleshoots and repairs all manufacturing equipment (Drilling machines, paint line, presses, forklifts etc.)
  • Performs routine electrical and mechanical maintenance on equipment
  • Performs general maintenance and repairs of facility and grounds (including basic carpentry, painting, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, groundskeeping etc.)
  • Inspects all building locations, and schedules repairs
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level
  • Uses tape measure, caliper, micrometer and other measuring tools to perform tasks accordingly
  • Supports operations as needed
