Part-time Maintenance Worker IV - Grounds
About The Position
Under general direction from the Full-time Senior Maintenance Supervisor - Grounds, Crew Leader, and/or Groundskeeper I & II, the Part-time Maintenance Worker IV performs skilled and semi-skilled tasks related to caring for and maintaining park grounds and related building facilities. The role may also involve routine park maintenance repairs, improvements, and construction. The position works 32 hours per week. Shift start times are typically 6:00 a.m., 6:30 a.m., or 7:00 a.m., depending on Park District needs, and weekend and/or holiday work may be scheduled. The work includes groundskeeping, landscape and trail maintenance, park facility cleaning, and minor repairs. The job post closes November 6, 2026.
Requirements
- At least one year of grounds maintenance or related experience.
- Adequate proficiency in reading, understanding, and speaking basic English.
- Grounds maintenance knowledge, skills, and abilities sufficient to contribute to the District’s goal of providing well-maintained parks.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member and independently.
- Ability to sustain an acceptable level of productivity.
- High school graduation or GED equivalent.
- Valid California driver’s license and good driving record.
- If selected for employment, provide a Motor Vehicle Report dated within the last 30 days and a copy of a diploma or GED certification.

Responsibilities
- Operate power mowing and edging equipment.
- Spray for pest and weed control.
- Apply fertilizers.
- Weed and prune.
- Perform minor sprinkler system repairs.
- Install landscaping.
- Prepare ball fields.
- Maintain equestrian and multi-purpose trails.
- Remove graffiti and trash.
- Clean and maintain park facilities and park building facilities, including restrooms.
- Perform minor equipment maintenance and other related work as assigned.
- Perform routine park maintenance repairs, improvements, and construction as assigned.
