About The Position

This position is responsible for performing a variety of skilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of City streets, alleys, and related infrastructure. This includes, but is not limited to, asphalt repair, concrete work, crack sealing, pothole patching, street sweeping, traffic control, and operating various types of equipment. The Maintenance Worker III - Streets will also be responsible for training and guiding lower-level maintenance workers, performing inspections, and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently according to established standards and procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Three (3) years of experience in street maintenance, construction, or a related field.
Valid Arizona Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B.
Knowledge of asphalt and concrete repair techniques.
Proficiency in operating heavy equipment.
Ability to read and interpret work orders and technical manuals.
Strong understanding of safety procedures and traffic control.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

Experience with street sweeping operations.
Certification in traffic control.
Experience in a lead or supervisory role.

Responsibilities

Perform skilled maintenance and repair of City streets, including asphalt patching, crack sealing, and concrete work.
Operate and maintain a variety of heavy and light equipment, including dump trucks, sweepers, rollers, and jackhammers.
Perform traffic control for work zones, ensuring the safety of the public and crew.
Conduct inspections of streets and related infrastructure to identify maintenance needs.
Train and provide guidance to lower-level maintenance workers.
Respond to emergency situations and perform necessary repairs.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment maintenance.
Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
