About The Position

Under general supervision, the Maintenance Worker II must be a self-starter and will be responsible for a variety of maintenance duties. This includes metalworking such as welding stainless steel, constructing sheet metal fabrications, and machining with manual machines (mill, lathe, band saws, etc.). The role also involves servicing, maintaining, and repairing commercial/industrial HVAC air handling equipment, performing architectural work including renovations, painting, carpentry, building repairs, and preventive maintenance to building structures. Additionally, the position requires servicing and repairing commercial refrigeration equipment. A key responsibility is responding in a timely fashion to a variety of alarms, including equipment monitoring systems, HVAC alarms, IT system alarms, and other related notifications.

Requirements

GED or high school diploma or equivalent.
3-5 years of directly-related maintenance experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
Demonstrated skills in general maintenance.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide variety of maintenance problems.
Highly motivated with good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Ability to learn department-specific computer systems as needed.
Post-offer background check.
Ability to gain and maintain access to Kirtland Air Force base (KAFB).

Responsibilities

Respond in a timely fashion to a variety of alarms to include equipment monitoring systems, HVAC alarms, IT system alarms, and all other related types of notifications.
Complete associated paperwork with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
