About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, reliability, and upkeep of facility infrastructure, equipment, and machinery. This role performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and general facility maintenance to maximize operational effectiveness, maintain safety standards, and minimize downtime. In addition to maintenance responsibilities, the position supports operational and technical projects by assisting with equipment modifications, fabrication of specialty parts and fixtures, coordinating with external vendors and machine shops as needed, and executing small-scale projects. The role works closely with cross-functional teams to address facility and equipment needs while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. Duties will primarily be performed in an R&D Lab environment. Assigned work uniform and protective eye wear should be worn as needed in addition to any PPE that should be worn, if indicated, on the plant or Lab floors when executing any activities.

Requirements

  • Mechanical engineering degree, some electrical engineering expertise.
  • Experienced Maintenance technician with over 5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Ability to work swing shift 2:00pm-10:30pm
  • Ability to troubleshoot common electrical and plumbing issues efficiently to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Proficient in replacing and installing various electrical components commonly found in industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Expertise in diagnosing electrical problems, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing effective repair solutions.
  • Skilled in using testing equipment, reading schematics, and identifying faults in electrical systems and machinery.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational training or certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on various types of machinery and equipment used in the various R&D processes. This includes, but is not limited to, reactors, pump and valves, mixers and agitators, storage tanks, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Perform general facility & production maintenance, including HVAC system, building exterior maintenance, security system maintenance, fire safety system maintenance and chemical process equipment on an as needed basis.
  • Maintain a clean work area and ensure department spare parts inventory is up to date and organized.
  • Conduct trouble-shooting as to critical spares and general improvements
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned. Tasks may include painting, carpentry, HVAC filter replacement, lighting fixture repairs, and other general maintenance duties to ensure the functionality and aesthetics of the workspace.
