About The Position

Under supervision, to perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and repair work; to do related work as required. Works independently, performs semi-skilled repair and preventive maintenance work in one or more of the trades, maintenance or mechanical areas, such as carpentry, electrical, glazing, heating and ventilation, locksmithing, painting, plumbing and roofing; Cuts and installs glass, plexiglass and similar materials in windows; Uses electric and acetylene welding equipment; Assists with and handles all kinds of material and equipment; Uses a variety of hand tools and operates machinery; Loads trucks with materials and equipment; Performs heavy manual labor; Cleans work area upon completion of jobs; Keeps records of work performed.

Requirements

One year performing a variety of semi-skilled maintenance work; or, two years at or equivalent to the level of Maintenance Worker I with Conejo Valley Unified School District.
Basic operations, tools and terms used in one or more of the trades and other maintenance areas.
Shop math.
Ability to perform semi-skilled work in one or more of the trades or maintenance areas.
Ability to identify and use hand tools and machinery used in various trades or maintenance areas.
Ability to maintain routine records.
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
Ability to perform heavy manual labor.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and repair work.

Clean work area upon completion of jobs.
Keep records of work performed.
