About The Position
The Maintenance Worker II performs a combination of entry-level custodial work and routine manual duties relating to the receipt, storage, and delivery of furniture, equipment, supplies, and materials needed in campus housing properties. Oversees trash collection and grounds cleanup around campus housing apartment complexes.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- One (1) year of experience in performing a variety of sub-journeyman maintenance & repair tasks.
- Must have and maintain a Texas Class “C” Operator’s Driver’s License.
- Three (3) years of acceptable driving history.

- Three (3) years of experience in performing a variety of sub-journeyman maintenance & repair tasks.
- Experience maintaining and repairing custodial equipment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor breezeways.
- Pick up all trash around apartments / parking lots.
- Remove all broken glass as needed.
- Clean trash / recycle dumpster.
- Clean mailroom area.
- Clean blue recycle bins.
- Complete assigned work orders, which can include (a) supply and material delivery such as cleaning products, vacuum cleaning products, furnishings and appliances (requires use of the Wesco Stair King); (b) Trash pickup and management around apartment dumpsters; © Make trips to Arlington Dump and recycling vendor.
- Organize and clean closet spaces.
- Clean laundry facilities in apartment complexes.
- Use a leaf blower to clear apartment breezeways.
- Perform general maintenance and housekeeping functions and cleaning equipment repairs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Drives a UTA vehicle.
