About The Position

The Maintenance Worker (Grounds) is responsible for maintaining the grounds of the Brookhaven School District to ensure a positive presentation to visitors, the community, students, and employees. This role involves performing landscaping and lawn maintenance, operating equipment safely, and adhering to district policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Valid MS Driver’s License
• Good health (medical exam not required)
• Such alternative to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in lawn care and/or landscaping preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs landscaping and lawn maintenance of all district lawns.
• Maintains a revolving cut schedule.
• Ensures the safe operation of all equipment assigned.
• Uses safety glasses/goggles and other appropriate safety equipment when operating equipment and dispersing chemicals.
• Performs maintenance of equipment in regard to the mechanical ability of the employee.
• Follows all board policies and procedures.
• Maintains regular attendance and is punctual.
• Promotes the district’s vision, mission, and goals.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance.
