About The Position

The Grounds & Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the grounds of all College owned properties. This role involves operating grounds maintenance equipment, performing related tasks in accordance with safety policies, completing work orders efficiently, and supporting campus needs through routine emergency response and on-call duties. The position requires a commitment to equity and inclusion and serving a diverse community.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have valid Maine driver’s license.
  • 2 years of experience.
  • Commitment to equity and inclusion, and serving the needs of a culturally and educationally diverse community.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Ability to logically trouble-shoot equipment problems.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions in the conduct of the job.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with supervisors, co-workers and outside contacts.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all grounds maintenance related equipment.
  • Perform all grounds maintenance related tasks.
  • Perform all tasks in accordance with recognized National and College safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete all assigned work orders in a timely manner.
  • Continually strive for work performance and shop procedure efficiencies.
  • Perform routine emergency response “on call” duty when necessary.
  • Ability and willingness to work weekends, holidays, and other non-traditional schedules to support campus emergencies, snow removal and major campus events.
  • Mandatory work includes but is not limited to the weekends of Convocation, Commencement and Reunion, athletic events and snow removal.
