NATURE AND SCOPE: Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Maintenance Worker will maintain YMCA facilities, equipment and property in a safe and clean manner to enhance the Association's membership retention efforts. This position must perform job responsibilities in accordance with the policies, goals, mission, values and objectives by the Metropolitan Atlanta YMCA.

Requirements

  • Must meet minimum age requirement of 18 years old
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • One year or more of related experience preferred
  • High degree of interpersonal communication
  • Maintain branch and association certifications in CPR/AED, state approved First Aid, new staff orientation, branch orientation and emergency procedures
  • Pass the criminal background check and drug screening
  • Possess skills of a handyman for the facility, performing routine maintenance and repairs on the building and grounds.
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
  • Ergonomics: Sufficient strength and agility to carry out essential duties.
  • Able to lift to 60lbs.
  • Ability to erect and stand on ladders/platforms at heights up to 12ft.
  • Employment Requirement: Ability to pass a pre-employment background check including Criminal Record check, Drug Screening, motor vehicle record (MVR) and reference check according to company policy.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Advise management on maintenance issues and projects; repairs as directed.
  • Complete work orders and projects in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for minor building repairs and maintenance.
  • Responds to safety and emergency situations and maintains/reports accurate incident/accident forms.
