About The Position

P&K Stone LLC is seeking a Maintenance Welder/Mechanic to join their team in Denton, Texas. This role is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repair of processing equipment in an aggregate plant, including stationary and mechanical equipment such as conveyors, feeders, pumps, shakers, and crushers.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience related to heavy-duty maintenance job or equivalent combination of training and experience, preferably in the aggregates industry.
Ability to perform duties in a safe manner.
Ability to read and write and communicate effectively.
Ability to communicate over two-way radio or with hand signals and warning sounds, with coworkers regarding movement of vehicles and mobile equipment.
Self-starter with ability to work with little or no supervision.
Strong mechanical knowledge.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated proficiency with oxy/acetylene torch and stick welding, MIG a plus.
Ability to identify and order basic parts (bearings, idlers, screens, pulleys).
Ability to field lay out and fabricate in steel.
Ability to wear a hard hat, safety glasses or goggles, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, safety reflective vest, full body harness, welding hood.
Ability to troubleshoot, repair and maintain all plant and crushing equipment.
Proficiency with a wide variety of hand tools and power tools.
Ability to work in outdoor environment and in elevated areas.

Nice To Haves

Experience in the aggregates industry.
MIG welding proficiency.
High school or equivalent education.

Responsibilities

Take an active role in plant safety initiatives.
Ensure a safe work environment for self and others at all times.
Maximize performance of stationary equipment by performing repairs and ensuring preventative maintenance is completed on a timely basis.
Ensure backlog process is completed and prioritized with Supervisor and/or Plant Manager.
Complete required paperwork to maintain equipment and run the plant according to P&K Stone standards.
Inspect and ensure maintenance truck is being maintained properly along with good housekeeping.
Prioritize SAFETY, then QUALITY, followed by Production.
Conduct MSHA/OSHA pre-shift safety inspections of equipment and work areas.
Check, repair, or replace pumps.
Ensure Preventative Maintenance services and lubrication services are completed according to the Maintenance Module.
Train and coach other employees on maintenance practices and be willing to be trained and coached as required.
