About The Position

Provide Welding / Fabricating expertise with the ability to make mechanical repairs in the Processing facilities working as a team member to make sure that food products are processed according to quality specifications and customer needs.

Requirements

  • Welding Skills: To include, but not be limited to, the use of an oxy-acetylene cutting torch, oxy-acetylene welding, copper pipe soldering, stick welding on mild steel as well as stainless steel, and TIG (Heli- Arc) welding of aluminum and stainless steel.
  • The ability to draw/ draft and layout equipment conveyors, guards etc. for various processing equipment.
  • Hydraulic Systems: To include, but not be limited to, hydraulic motors as well as pumps, pressure switches, directional flow control valves, check valves, hydraulic manifolds, as well as piping and hydraulic fittings.
  • Pneumatics: To include but not be limited to, cylinders, air motors, control valves and piping, and an ability to interpret pneumatic schematics.
  • Electrical: A basic understanding of electricity in both single phase and three phase power for 110V, 230V, and 480V; an understanding of micro-switches, solid state relays, photo electric switches and sensors, and inductive proximity switches.
  • Industrial Shop Tools: To include but not be limited to, the use of grinders and cutoff saws, band saws, drill presses, hydraulic presses, and pipe threading equipment.
  • Strong initiative along with the ability to work independently.
  • Good team player with strong interpersonal skills and flexibility.

  • Reliable and Dependable to complete all assignments in a timely manner
  • Flexible and able to adapt to assignments as needed
  • Experience in fabrication and TIG welding.
  • Most power tools are supplied by the company, but you will need to have your own hand tools (standard and metric).

Nice To Haves

  • Welding Certification for sanitary lines or Pressure Vessels would also be beneficial.
  • Any experience with programmable logic controllers and computers is beneficial.
  • A basic understanding of the operation of a lathe is beneficial.
  • Previous work experience as a mechanic in food processing plants or fish processing plants would be desired.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Knowledge of production line and packing processes
  • Sanitary Welding Experience
  • Pressure Vessel Certification
