About The Position

The Maintenance Trainer position is responsible for managing the maintenance training program. This includes developing and implementing a schedule to conduct training for all maintenance personnel. The maintenance trainer will facilitate the DuPont Training Program, which consists of training modules, hands-on lab, and field training. The trainer will manage the progress of each team member and provide appropriate feedback to team members, the management team, and the union. This is primarily a first-shift job but requires availability to fill in on other shifts or split shifts as needed. The role also involves performing refreshers on P.I. T’s and LOTO for all maintenance employees and working with electrical apprentices.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours including some weekends.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to lead others toward achieving personal and plant results.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree from technical/trade school preferred.
  • Multi-skilled maintenance background desired.
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite is preferred.
  • Strong writing and computer skills preferred.
  • English Spanish bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the DuPont Training Program, including implementation and execution.
  • Track and document that team members are receiving required time in the training program.
  • Provide feedback to the management team if training requirements are not being met.
  • Provide timely feedback to team members on their progression through training.
  • Spend time in the plant verifying team members’ hands-on training and comprehension.
  • Develop and maintain testing lab equipment and classroom.
  • Continually develop training curriculum specific to plant needs.
  • Develop, distribute, and maintain key performance indicators, including related graphs and documents.
  • Perform refreshers on P.I. T’s and LOTO for all maintenance employees.
  • Work with electrical apprentices.
