About The Position

The Maintenance TQ Electrician effectively troubleshoots, repairs, installs and maintains all packaging, processing and utility equipment for Factors Group of Nutritional Companies and subsidiary companies, specializing in electrical and their control systems. Requirements

  • Commercial or Industrial Electrical Facilities experience
  • Electrical and mechanical background
  • Trade TQ (BC or inter-provincial) Red Seal preferred
  • PLC wiring and field troubleshooting abilities. Experience on Allen Bradley, Omron, Siemens and Mitsubishi PLCs.
  • Experience with optical sensors and electronic circuits
  • Experience with DC speed controls and motors
  • Ability to install electrical equipment and systems
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with operations and maintenance related equipment
  • Knowledge of compressed air, vacuum pumps, and HVAC equipment
  • GMP knowledge
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with A/B and servo drives and variable frequency controllers (an asset)
  • Forklift certification or experience an asset
  • Willing to work shift work

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot all production, utility and processing equipment
  • Use CMMS system (Megamation) for reporting all work
  • Electrical installation of new equipment to TSBC regulation
  • Troubleshoot PLC controllers, servo drives, optical sensors, bar code readers, operating interface devices, instrumentation, flow meters, variable frequency controls, motors and DC drives
  • Adjust and optimize equipment performance
  • Install and train on all new equipment
  • Perform equipment inspections
  • Assist Operators in setup and tooling
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems with equipment
  • Interact with suppliers to source spare parts and maintenance supplies
  • Service air systems
  • Follow preventative maintenance schedules
  • Complete maintenance, write work reports
  • Read equipment manuals and maintain trade and technical knowledge
  • Clean equipment
  • Work on other assigned maintenance projects
  • Report all quality issues to department leadership
  • Follow and adhere to all given instructions including work procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices(cGMP)
  • Strictly adhere to WorkSafeBC standards and observe all safety policies as outlined in the company policies and training sessions
  • Other duties as assigned
