About The Position

Q-Lab Corporation is currently seeking a Maintenance Electrician. This position will be responsible for installing, repairing, or assembling electrical circuits/fixtures and plumbing fixtures/piping for the Westlake office. This role will also perform routine maintenance on plant equipment, perform maintenance and upkeep on building systems and building interior/exterior, as well as other maintenance activities as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years’ experience working as an electrician
  • Thorough working knowledge of electrical wiring and circuits. Ability to work to NEC and OBBC standards.
  • Working knowledge of basic plumbing and ability to install various types of fixtures and piping.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools including electrical and electronic test equipment.
  • Must have experience work with 120/277/480 VAC; single and 3 phase
  • Computer literacy

  • Certified Electrician is a huge plus

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, or assemble electrical circuits and fixtures.
  • Install, repair, or assemble plumbing fixtures and piping.
  • Perform routine maintenance on plant equipment. Assist with the installation and start up of plant equipment.
  • Perform maintenance and upkeep on building systems and building interior and exterior.
  • Inspect on a routine basis electrical equipment, wiring, fixtures and other components to ensure they remain functional and are up to code, as well as identify any hazards or issues.
  • Determine the reasons for any malfunctions of systems or components, and create a maintenance or repair plan to solve the problem.
  • Repair electrical systems, wiring, circuit breakers, equipment and other components so that they remain at full functioning capacity.
  • Test systems with devices such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes and ohmmeters to ensure the system remains safe and that components are compatible.
  • Review blueprints to understand the placement of wiring or to comprehend the working of the equipment to provide the right services and repairs.
  • Provide suggestions on the lifespan of equipment and other electrical components, advising when certain components should be replaced due to potential risks.
  • Keep records of all maintenance and repair work conducted, including a record of any supplies ordered or used.
  • Ensure all routine maintenance work is handled on a regular schedule to reduce the risk of larger and more complex issues and to reduce costs.
  • Other maintenance activities as assigned.
