About The Position

Quanex is looking for a Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift to join our team located in Rice Lake, WI. The schedule is Monday-Thursday 8:00p-6:30a, with varying overtime needs during the busy season. This role offers the opportunity to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems, work with manufacturing equipment throughout the facility, and expand a broad technical skill set within a strong team environment. There are also long-term growth opportunities available.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Approximately two to three years of experience as a Maintenance Technician or in industrial/manufacturing maintenance preferred.
Strong mechanical, electrical, and plumbing knowledge with proven troubleshooting abilities.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics and use maintenance tools and equipment proficiently.
Strong communication and teamwork skills with dependable attendance.

Nice To Haves

Technical school, trade school, apprenticeship experience, or relevant certification is highly valued.
Experience working with multiple types of manufacturing equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance tasks such as inspecting, cleaning, and lubricating machinery and equipment.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
Repair or replace defective parts and components.
Conduct preventive maintenance to avoid equipment breakdowns.
Collaborate with other team members to address maintenance needs.
Document all maintenance and repair activities accurately.
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
Assist in maintaining an inventory of spare parts and equipment.
Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies in a timely manner.
