About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for participating in changeovers, machine preventative maintenance (PM), and repairs. This role requires spending approximately 95% of time on the production floor with the machines, understanding and communicating their current status. The technician will work closely with the shift supervisor to ensure machines are maintained in a safe, efficient, and quality manner. A key part of the role involves a handover meeting at the beginning of the shift and documenting information in the maintenance log before departing. The position also includes responsibilities related to maintaining GMP and SQF compliance, responding to emergencies, ensuring security diligence, and contributing to the prevention of nonconforming product shipment. The technician will identify and record problems, initiate actions to prevent non-conformities, and suggest improvements for products, processes, and systems.

Requirements

Experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment preferred
Experience with troubleshooting pneumatic systems
Working knowledge of Lock Out/Tag Out requirements
Mechanical aptitude
High School or Equivalent Education

Nice To Haves

Nissei, AOKI, Uniloy and/or SIPA experience, or experience with resin and blending systems is a huge plus!
Prior certification on a forklift
Experience with resin and blending systems strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Participates in changeovers, machine PM, and repairs
Spends 95% of time on the floor with the machines
Understands and can relate the current status of all production machines on the floor
Works closely with shift supervisor to maintain machines in safe, efficient and quality process
Spends first 15 minutes of shift in turn over meeting with previous shift Maintenance Technician
Before departing, shift Maintenance Tech will enter appropriate information in the maintenance Log, or other appropriate designated place
Basic electrical troubleshooting of machinery and ability to read an electrical print
Ability to identify relief valves
Experience replacing heater bands, heat relays and troubleshooting heat zones
Working knowledge of servicing hydraulics and replacing hydraulic pumps
Experience with troubleshooting pneumatic systems
Responsible for maintaining and adhering to established Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance requirements.
Responsible for adhering to Food Safety Compliance.
Respond to any emergency or potential emergency.
Security diligence, including maintaining control of door accesses, preventing unauthorized entry to the facility by non-Amcor employees and proper maintenance/security of Amcor equipment and information.
Constant vigilance and participation in GMP and SQF practices.
Assist in the prevention of nonconforming product from being shipped to customers.
Identify and record problems relating to product, process and quality systems.
Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems.
Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes or systems and very the implementation of solutions.
