About The Position

We are hiring a Maintenance Technician to keep Sunward's Jamestown manufacturing operation running at peak performance. You will own preventive maintenance, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic failures, and work directly with production leadership to minimize downtime. When a line goes down, you are the person who gets it back up. This is a skilled trades role that rewards broad technical knowledge and ownership mindset. Starting pay is based on your experience - technicians with electrical, PLC, or industrial maintenance backgrounds can expect placement well above the entry rate.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or heavy equipment environment
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems including reading wiring diagrams and safely troubleshooting faults
  • Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems - diagnosis, repair, and component replacement
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and systematic approach to troubleshooting
  • Mechanically inclined with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with electrical wiring.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Manual dexterity and stability required for precision work.
  • Close-range vision for detailed work.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Capacity to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree, trade school cert, or vocational training in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, or Mechatronics is a plus
  • PLC experience
  • CMMS familiarity
  • Steel/fabrication background
  • Electrical and/or Mechanical Certifications or Degrees

Responsibilities

  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance programs across all production equipment - press brakes, roll formers, shears, overhead cranes, conveyors, and ancillary plant machinery
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment failures to minimize production downtime
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, mechanical drawings, and OEM service manuals
  • Source, order, and install replacement parts; maintain appropriate spare parts inventory for rapid response
  • Perform general facility maintenance including HVAC, compressed air, plumbing, lighting, and building infrastructure
  • Document all PM activities in the maintenance log or CMMS system
  • Follow all safety protocols - LOTO, arc flash, confined space, and fall protection - on every job, every time
  • Support the production floor as needed and be available for occasional after-hours response for critical breakdowns - overtime as needed
