About The Position

This position assists in performing semi-skilled and unskilled labor in the construction, maintenance, and related service activities related to Facilities maintenance. Receives direct supervision from the Crew Leader- Facility.

Requirements

At least two years of general maintenance experience performing facilities maintenance or construction work.
High school diploma or its equivalent.
Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be qualifying.
Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid, Utah driver's license.
Employee will be required to complete NIMS IS100 and IS700 within six months of hire.
Ability to obtain TSA Clearance at the Ogden Airport.
Forklift Certified within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Operate construction and maintenance equipment and power tools. Scissor lifts, forklifts, compressors, generators, chemical sprayers, paint sprayers, etc.
Maintain hand tools and assigned equipment; perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
Utilize proper safety precautions related to all work performed.
Respond to customer inquiries in a courteous manner and provide information within the area of assignment.
Document all tasks and projects within the Facilities work order system.
Coordinate maintenance and construction activities with outside contractors and other city departments.
Resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner.
Perform snow removal and ice control duties as required around facilities.
Respond to and resolve difficult and sensitive customers' inquiries and complaints.
Available for rotating On Call schedule as assigned and/or during other emergency conditions.
Be available and physically/mentally capable of working up to 12 hours at a time.
Participate in safety and risk management activities; take action to reduce liability to the city.
Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.
Employee is required to work as a team and frequently meet with co-workers and supervisors; employee is required to communicate in-person with customers during office hours and after when on call; and employee is required to use on-site equipment.
Perform other related duties as required/assigned.
