About The Position

At EGA Spectro Alloys, the Maintenance Technician role is crucial for keeping a high-volume aluminum recycling operation running safely, efficiently, and reliably. This is a hands-on, high-impact role in a modern, heavy industrial environment where the technician's work directly supports production, safety, and plant performance. The position is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, takes pride in fixing things correctly, and wants to be part of a strong, dependable team.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of mechanical experience or related background
• Basic experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, or electrical troubleshooting
• Ability to work in varying temperatures (hot and cold environments)
• Strong attendance, reliability, and time management
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs
• Must be at least 18 years old

Nice To Haves

• Industrial, manufacturing, or heavy equipment experience
• Background in recycling, foundry, aggregate, mining, or similar environments
• Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair motors, conveyors, and production systems
• Troubleshoot mechanical systems with support from experienced team members
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine safety inspections
• Work with hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems
• Use hand tools, shop equipment, and diagnostic tools to complete repairs
• Inspect and test equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation
• Collaborate closely with Maintenance and Production teams to reduce downtime
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
