About The Position

Join our amazing production team in Commerce, CA (just north of the Citadel). Provide maintenance support and repairs to production machinery and facility for a 24 hr. / 7-day manufacturing operation. Additionally, performs all the duties of a Maintenance Technician 1 as required. Maintenance work hours are subject to vary.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • 1-3 years of related experience.
  • Electro-mechanical experience.
  • Powered Industrial Truck Certification
  • Proficient in performing production equipment preventive maintenance.
  • Able to diagnose equipment faults and malfunctions.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations/requirements.
  • Able to identify and perform Level A,B & C equipment preventive maintenance.
  • Able to read and understand schematics/blueprints.
  • Must demonstrate good time management skills.
  • Plans and organizes daily work flow.
  • Ability to retain knowledge of procedures and processes and understand complex instructions and multi-step procedures.
  • Willingness to attend training classes to learn or enhance skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to organize work, people, and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports.
  • Ability to calculate area, circumference, volume, etc.
  • Service-oriented personality.
  • Ability to work a schedule with call-in and overtime duties.
  • Ability to speak and communicate effectively utilizing the English language preferred.
  • Intermediate written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate math skills.
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and internet software.
  • Informs leaders and other technicians of pertinent information and communicates to Plant personnel, leadership, and other departments, as necessary.
  • Communicates with equipment operators to determine problems with equipment before breakdown and to determine if equipment adjustments or repairs are necessary.
  • Communicates with outside vendors and various suppliers, service, and maintenance providers.
  • Often must make decisions in conjunction with department supervisors to shut down equipment, schedule repairs, request for service.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Inventory Software, Manufacturing Software and Order Processing Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Respond in a timely manner to all maintenance requests on the production floor.
  • Train production technicians in the proper setup and copy troubleshooting techniques.
  • Provide training and assistance to production technicians as needed to help maximize production output and minimize downtime through the utilization of proper production techniques and handling practices.
  • Effectively diagnose mechanical, electrical, network, and computer hardware/software in assigned area (facility, machinery, equipment, etc.)
  • Make timely and accurate repairs, as necessary, during production.
  • Utilize illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational manuals in the repair, modification, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Inspect machinery for potential problems on a daily basis.
  • Documents problems and schedules work/repairs as appropriate.
  • Respond to all assigned maintenance work orders in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for performing preventive maintenance (PM) activities in accordance with the preventive maintenance plan.
  • These activities will be recorded using proper PM sheets.
  • Perform inventory control of parts and equipment used from inventory.
  • Inform Supervisor of parts and equipment used from inventory.
  • Record maintenance activities using the proper computer application or paperwork.
  • Provide training and coaching to new maintenance technicians and inspects their work.
  • Perform housekeeping duties required of maintenance staff including work area clean-up, machine, and equipment clean-up, sweeping up after clean-up and various other general housekeeping duties as assigned.
