Maintenance Technician - East Central Apts.
About The Position
Monroe Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician for East Central Apts. in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Under the supervision and direction of the Community Manager, the position is responsible for maintaining the community’s physical condition to meet established standards for safety, appearance, and operation within budget. The role covers the interior and exterior of the building and other areas involved in the building’s day-to-day function and residents’ activities, and includes overseeing outside contracts and vendors. The Maintenance Technician helps ensure that maintenance teams provide residents with safe, decent, and sanitary housing. The role includes general property maintenance, inspections, curb appeal and cleanliness, make-ready scheduling, and purchasing and budget management.
Requirements
- Previous experience in apartment or multifamily maintenance.
- English proficiency, including reading, speaking, and writing.
- Ability to pass a full background check.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of maintenance technician experience, including knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair.

Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, appliances, and exterior structures.
- Perform property and unit inspections.
- Maintain the property’s curb appeal and general cleanliness.
- Schedule and maintain the Make-Ready Board.
- Purchase materials and manage the budget.
- Help ensure maintenance teams deliver safe, decent, and sanitary housing to residents.
- Oversee outside contracts and vendors.
