About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting daily facility and manufacturing operations through preventative maintenance, coolant management, scrap handling, and general facility upkeep. This role helps maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment by performing routine maintenance tasks throughout the facility and machining areas.

Requirements

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to follow written instructions, maintenance schedules, and safety procedures.
  • Comfortable working around manufacturing equipment and machining operations.
  • Basic computer and documentation skills preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, maintenance, facilities, or industrial environments preferred.
  • Prior experience with preventative maintenance is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Change and maintain machine coolant systems according to established schedules and procedures.
  • Remove scrap metal, chips, and waste material from machining and production areas.
  • Weigh, sort, document, and catalog scrap material for inventory and recycling purposes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of manufacturing work areas, maintenance areas, and facility spaces.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks on facility equipment and systems.
  • Assist with HVAC preventative maintenance including filter changes, cleaning, and basic upkeep.
  • Perform basic facility repairs including minor plumbing, painting, lighting replacement, furniture assembly, and general handyman tasks.
  • Support maintenance activities related to machines, tooling, and production equipment as directed.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, floor scrubbers, or other equipment as authorized and trained.
  • Monitor facility conditions and report equipment issues, safety concerns, or maintenance needs.
  • Assist with building upkeep including exterior grounds, walkways, and warehouse organization.
  • Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and environmental guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and scrap documentation as required.
  • Support continuous improvement and 5S initiatives throughout the facility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operations and facility needs.
