About The Position

Performs all of the duties of a Maintenance Mechanic and repairs, installs, and replaces electrical equipment and appliances. This is a 1st Shift position, Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The role requires the ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings, conduct tests to locate system malfunctions, and install electrical components in accordance with codes. Responsibilities include installing conduit, running wires, building control panels, testing wiring connections, lubricating and cleaning parts, observing mechanical devices for trouble, dismantling devices, examining parts for imperfections, inspecting used parts, adjusting functional parts, repairing or replacing defective parts, installing special functional and structural parts, using machine tools, testing devices, operating metalworking tools, initiating purchase orders, repairing electrical equipment, utilizing braze-welding equipment, maintaining repair records, maintaining a clean and orderly maintenance shop, and adhering to safety procedures. The successful candidate will show leadership among their peers.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
Frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Occasionally required to talk or hear and taste or smell.
Must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 90 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

Background in Robotics and or vacuum casting preferred.
Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

Reads and understands blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Conducts tests to locate mechanical/electrical system malfunction.

Tests wiring connections with test equipment like volt/ohmmeters and oscilloscopes.
Lubricates and cleans parts.
Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
Repairs or replaces defective parts.
Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
Uses machine tools in installation, maintenance or repair.
Starts devices to test their performance.
Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
Repairs electrical equipment.
Utilizes braze-welding equipment as needed.
Maintains repair records.
Maintains a clean and orderly maintenance shop.
Adheres to safety procedures.
