About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for responding safely and efficiently to maintenance and repair needs for equipment and machinery. This role emphasizes safety as the number one priority, promoting a safe work environment and culture by following all safety programs and guidelines. The technician will conduct all processes and procedures in accordance with department guidelines, coordinate and schedule repairs with the area supervisor, and communicate the repair schedule to affected employees. Key tasks include troubleshooting, planning, and executing repairs, locating and preparing necessary parts, and providing support and training to less experienced team members. The role also involves writing detailed preventative maintenance procedures, developing preventative maintenance schedules, and thoroughly documenting all repairs. Maintaining a clean and orderly work area using the 5S system is essential. As an emergency coordinator, the technician must respond immediately to workplace accidents to tend to tools and equipment involved.

Responsibilities

Respond safely and efficiently to maintenance and repair needs to equipment and machinery
Ensure that safety is always the number one priority at Alexandria Industries; promote and support a safe work environment and safety-oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelines
Conduct all processes and procedures in accordance with department guidelines
Coordinate and schedule repairs needed on equipment with the area supervisor
Communicate the repair schedule of equipment with all affected employees in the specific work area
Troubleshoot, plan and execute repairs
Locate, identify and prepare parts listed to complete repairs
Provide support and training to less experienced team members when appropriate
Write detailed preventative maintenance procedures and develop preventative maintenance schedules
Document all repairs thoroughly
Follow all safety programs and policies
Keep work area clean and orderly using 5S system (standardize, sustain, sort, set in order and shine)
As a member of the maintenance team, act as “emergency coordinator” - respond immediately to any workplace accidents that arise to tend to the tools and equipment involved
