About The Position

Kinperium-Hiniker LLC (Hiniker) is a Minnesota based manufacturer with roots in the agricultural equipment industry since 1970. They are known for sturdy cultivators, efficient shredders, and niche equipment. In 1995, Hiniker expanded into designing and manufacturing snow removal equipment and further strengthened their offerings with the acquisition of Daniels Plows in 2024. They are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician with strong experience in manufacturing environments, located in Mankato, MN. The Maintenance Technician will perform a wide variety of maintenance duties including inspections, replacements, alignment, balancing, installation, refurbishment, and machine operation. The position will maintain mechanical equipment, electric controls and fluid power systems. The ideal candidate must have the ability to think in abstract terms, solve complex problems, and apply troubleshooting skills.

Requirements

  • 2-year degree in a mechanical/electrical field and 1 year experience as a maintenance technician or 5 years as a maintenance technician.
  • Experience in lockout tagout procedures.
  • Plumbing
  • High/low voltage systems
  • Measuring equipment (caliper, micrometer, tape measure)
  • Blueprint reading
  • Ability to think in abstract terms, solve complex problems, and apply troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment, electric controls and fluid power systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems including high voltage, fuses, VFD, relays and switches and controls.
  • Good knowledge of bearing types (applications and the limitations) including installation methods.
  • Good knowledge of hydraulic presses and systems.

  • Machine troubleshooting and PM experience including sheet lasers, lathe, milling machine, surface grinder, drill press, etc.
  • Welding experience - MIG and TIG

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and machinery; perform routine basic to advanced troubleshooting of equipment mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic, and controls issues.
  • Perform daily TPM duties.
  • Work with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Interpret and apply technical codes.
  • Install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot equipment generally classified as mechanical power transmission including gearboxes/drives, transmissions, conveyors, and rollers.
  • Work with measuring equipment such as calipers, tape measure, and micrometers.
  • Install, maintain, rebuild, replace, and troubleshoot centrifugal and positive displacement pumps.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Work with high voltage, fuses, VFD, relays and switches and controls.
  • Install, maintain, rebuild, replace, and troubleshoot equipment such as sheet lasers, lathe, milling machine, surface grinder, drill press, etc.
  • Perform welding (MIG and TIG).
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and drawings.
  • Experience in lockout tagout procedures.
  • Perform plumbing tasks.
  • Work with high/low voltage systems.
  • Use measuring equipment (caliper, micrometer, tape measure).
  • Perform blueprint reading.
