About The Position

The Maintenance Technician performs electrical troubleshooting and mechanical maintenance on packaging and other equipment. The role requires five years of packaging and equipment maintenance experience, with emphasis on electrical installation, PLC knowledge, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting. PLC work involves understanding and troubleshooting, not programming.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Five years of packaging and equipment maintenance experience, emphasizing electrical installation and preventive maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.
• Experience maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting conveyors, robotics, over wrappers, palletizers, shrink wrappers, casers, air compressors, and boilers.
• Experience operating boom and scissor lifts.
• Ability to use basic electrical test instruments, including a VOM multimeter and clamp-on ammeter.
• Ability to troubleshoot sensors and photo eyes and understand how they relate to PLC operation.
• Ability to troubleshoot pneumatic cylinders and MAC valves.
• Ability to maintain and operate boilers and steam tunnels.

Nice To Haves

• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting automated conveyor equipment.
• Certifications in basic electrical, mechanical, motor control relay logic, and schematic reading.

Responsibilities

• Install machines and equipment.
• Install control wiring and troubleshoot to the component level.
• Apply PLC understanding and troubleshooting skills; programming is not required.
• Anchor equipment, run conduit, pull wire, and terminate conductors.
• Maintain and rebuild equipment, including conveyor systems and robotics.
• Perform other routine maintenance duties.
