About The Position

The multi-craft maintenance technician is responsible for safely performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment to support the achievement of Copperweld’s business goals and objectives.

  • Successful candidates will be required to successfully pass drug screening and background checks.

Nice To Haves

  • Welding and ability to fabricate machine parts from drawings for equipment repairs
  • Three (3) or more years of experience as an Industrial Electrician and/or Maintenance Mechanic
  • Ability to understand and complete Auto CAD drawings

Responsibilities

  • Safely perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair on AC/DC motors, pumps, sumps, gearboxes, hydraulic units, analog/digital drives, lift trucks, machinery and industrial equipment.
  • Safely disassemble equipment, recommend replacement parts and reassemble equipment; make sound judgments on when to replace parts.
  • Work with hydraulics and pneumatics; understand fluid power.
  • Fabricate machine parts from drawings for equipment repairs (preferred).
  • Use measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc.) and electrical equipment (amp meter, ohmmeter, megger, voltmeter and other basic electrical tools).
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, ladder logic and electrical specifications.
  • Install single and three phase wiring.
  • Troubleshoot AC, DC and variable frequency drives to determine root cause of malfunction.
  • Troubleshoot, create and modify Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) programs (preferred).
  • Perform replacement drive installations.
  • Understand and complete Auto CAD drawings (a plus).
  • Understand Reliability Principles and Knowledge of Predictive Technology and Measures.
  • Participate in Failure Reporting and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned.
