About The Position

The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI) is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their New Vehicle Check-In Team. This role is crucial for preparing new vehicles and equipment, as well as managing the retirement and disposition of outgoing fleet assets. The team oversees over 2,400 vehicles and equipment, aiming to keep 96% or more city vehicles available. Requirements

• Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
• One (1) year of experience performing a variety of duties in construction, mechanical, or facility maintenance.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Clear, concise, and effective communication skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Basic knowledge of automotive electrical systems.
• Experience with general light maintenance tasks.
• Flexibility and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
• Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Accurately collecting and entering vehicle/equipment information (fluids, filters, part numbers).
• Installing and removing telematics on new and disposed vehicles/equipment.
• Installing and removing decals on new and disposed vehicles/equipment.
• Support the intake of new vehicles and equipment by confirming that all ordered specifications have been properly installed.
• Duplicating and cutting keys for vehicles/equipment.
• Performing light maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Conducting weekly vehicle starts, surplus removals, and inspections.
• Running vehicle diagnostics.
• Performing pre-trip inspections on new vehicles/equipment.
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Overseeing the pressure washer loan program.
• Handling administrative tasks, including managing data in Fleet Management Systems.
• Providing excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Serving as backup for the Facility Maintenance Team as needed.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
