About The Position

The Maintenance Technician maintains, repairs, and inspects vending units, luggage carts, and battery-powered cart-moving equipment at San Antonio International Airport. The role includes repairing and maintaining cart management units, recording tests and repairs, changing and rotating batteries, and keeping equipment clean and presentable. The technician follows Smarte Carte maintenance instructions and safety guidelines, assists customers courteously, and may be required to remain on call for emergency repairs.

Requirements

At least 6 months of previous experience in electromechanical repairs.
Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical components.
Previous experience performing quality mechanical and electrical maintenance.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to obtain an airport badge.
Ability to obtain a USPS badge, requiring a background check, drug screen, and at least five years of residence in the United States.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to push or pull 75–100 pounds.
Ability to walk and stand for the duration of the shift.
Ability to frequently bend, stoop, and twist.
Visual acuity, manual dexterity, and physical ability to perform equipment repairs and maintenance.

Responsibilities

Repair out-of-order cart management units.
Perform regular maintenance on cart management units and accurately record tests and repairs, including battery changes and rotations.
Clean cart management units regularly and promptly remove spills and debris.
Comply with maintenance instructions in the Smarte Carte operations manual.
Follow all safety rules and guidelines.
Provide courteous assistance to customers.
Maintain accurate written records of equipment tests and maintenance schedules.
Maintain 24-hour on-call status for emergency repairs if required.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
