Maintenance Technician - SAT San Antonio International Airport, TX - Full Time
About The Position
Smarte Carte is hiring a full-time Maintenance Technician at San Antonio International Airport. The role maintains, repairs, and inspects vending units, luggage carts, and battery-powered cart-moving equipment. The technician performs routine maintenance, records tests and repairs, keeps equipment clean and presentable, follows the operations manual and safety guidelines, and provides courteous assistance to customers. If required, the technician must remain on 24-hour on-call status for emergency repairs. The position pays $21 per hour and includes a $5 monthly cellular phone allowance.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of previous work experience in electro-mechanical repairs.
- Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical components.
- Previous experience performing quality mechanical and electrical maintenance.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to obtain an airport badge.
- Ability to obtain a USPS badge, including passing a background check and drug screen and having resided in the United States for at least 5 years.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to push or pull 75–100 pounds.
- Ability to walk and stand for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, and twist.
- Visual acuity, manual dexterity, and physical ability to perform equipment repairs and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Repair out-of-order cart management units.
- Perform regular maintenance on cart management units, including changing and rotating batteries.
- Accurately record equipment tests and repairs on the appropriate forms.
- Maintain the appearance of cart management units by cleaning them regularly and promptly removing spills and debris.
- Comply with maintenance instructions in the Smarte Carte operations manual.
- Follow all safety rules and guidelines.
- Provide courteous assistance to customers.
- Maintain accurate written records of equipment tests and maintenance schedules.
- Maintain 24-hour on-call status for emergency repairs if required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
