MAINTANCE TECHNICIAN
About The Position
Suncoast Behavioral Health Center provides quality mental health care and education services for adolescents, ages 11–17 who are experiencing behavioral, emotional, educational, family and social challenges. The dedicated professionals at Suncoast Behavioral Health Center provide quality mental health treatment for children. The program establishes healthy behaviors and prepares children to transition back home. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible to perform routine maintenance duties for Rolling Hills Hospital. The Maintenance Technician will ensure that the facility and property are clean, safe, secure, and functioning at optimum efficiency. This is an intermediate level role within the Plant Operation Department. The maintenance technician is also responsible for completing their assigned safety checks and adheres to all safety regulations and practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 – 3 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a behavioral health or hospital setting.
- Must have valid, current Florida Driver License.
- Must be able to demonstrate experience in all of the following areas: electrical and distribution systems, plumbing, heating and air conditioning water and sewer systems, powered equipment, automobiles and safety and fire protection.
Responsibilities
- General facility maintenance including basic carpentry, painting, drywall flooring and minor plumbing.
- Skill in troubleshooting electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and HVAC components under supervision.
- Ability to prioritize and close work orders with timely documentation.
- Ability to perform inspections and preventive maintenance per regulatory guidelines.
- Knowledge of safety practices, including PPE use, lockout/tagout and safe ladder/hand-tool operations.
- Ability to navigate behavioral health environments while ensuring patient and staff safety.
- Clear communication with clinical staff, patients and vendors using service excellence principles.
