About The Position

NOVO Health Services is an industrial healthcare laundry providing linen management and distribution services to hospitals, medical clinics, and nursing homes. The Maintenance Technician troubleshoots and repairs equipment and components in a regional healthcare linen facility. The role includes inspecting assigned equipment, carrying out preventive maintenance, responding to equipment trouble calls, and communicating identified malfunctions to the Supervisor. The technician may also handle plant start-up or shut-down and instruct mechanics in lower classifications on appropriate repair techniques.

Requirements

High school education or equivalent.
Two years of formal training in a skilled trade; experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Knowledge of industrial electricity and industrial electronics.
Knowledge of PLCs, computer interfacing, and operations.
Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
Knowledge of steam.
Ability to read and understand complicated machine and wiring drawings.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components, including switches, air solenoid valves, air lines, and major machine components.
Visit assigned areas, inspect equipment, and assess maintenance needs.
Review assigned preventive maintenance work and perform activities possible during production; complete remaining activities during non-production hours.
Respond to trouble calls on assigned equipment.
Identify mechanical, electrical, or electronic malfunctions and communicate them to the Supervisor.
May be responsible for plant start-up or shut-down.
Instruct mechanics in lower classifications in appropriate repair techniques.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
