About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining printing presses, converting equipment, facility systems, and other production equipment. This role involves diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum, and control system issues, as well as performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance. The technician will respond to equipment breakdowns, restore equipment to service safely and efficiently, and complete work orders while accurately documenting maintenance activities. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, including adherence to OSHA, company, and plant safety requirements, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Arc Flash procedures, and maintaining machine guarding. The position also expects self-motivation, dependability, initiative, and a commitment to equipment reliability and maintenance quality, with a willingness to learn and expand technical skills. Support for work-life balance is mentioned, with flexibility required during breakdowns, shutdowns, and emergency repairs, including remaining on-site when necessary to complete critical repairs or ensure equipment is in a safe condition. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Basic understanding of industrial electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including motors, relays, contactors, sensors, VFDs, control circuits, and the ability to read electrical schematics and technical manuals.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks while maintaining a focus on safety and production.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with all departments.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school, industrial maintenance certification, military technical training, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience with printing, packaging, converting, or related manufacturing equipment is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain printing presses, converting equipment, facility systems, and other production equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum, and control system issues.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and restore equipment to service safely and efficiently.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical manuals, and equipment documentation.
  • Perform welding, fabrication, machining, and custom repairs as needed.
  • Complete work orders and accurately document maintenance activities.
  • Follow all OSHA, company, and plant safety requirements.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Arc Flash procedures.
  • Maintain machine guarding and safety devices.
  • Report unsafe conditions and near misses immediately.
  • Participate in safety training and continuous improvement activities.
  • Wear required PPE and promote a safe work environment.
  • Be self-motivated, dependable, and take initiative.
  • Take ownership of equipment reliability and maintenance quality.
  • Respond to equipment issues with a sense of urgency.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and a clean work environment.
