About The Position

Mercy Housing is hiring an on-site Maintenance Technician for Delmar Apartments in Chicago, Illinois. The successful candidate completes preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and apartment turnovers while helping maintain high standards of cleanliness and customer service. Pay is $23–$25 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of basic building maintenance through training or experience.
Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle; valid driver's license and insurance required.
Ability to take direction from a supervisor.
Ability to read, write, do basic math, and follow instructions.
Flexibility to change work plans.
Maintain a professional personal appearance.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of skilled maintenance work.
Technical training in one or more building trades.

Responsibilities

Complete work orders in a timely and accurate manner.
Clean up after completing work.
Perform property repairs, including painting, basic carpentry or wall repair, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
Clean apartments during the turnover process as directed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
