Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician - Afternoon Shift to join our Kings Mountain, NC site. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining plant equipment to support safe, reliable operations and the achievement of plant business goals and objectives. This role performs a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and controls-related maintenance activities to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production machinery used in the manufacture of heavy- and medium-duty truck transmissions. The technician will diagnose equipment issues, repair or replace components, test, adjust, and verify proper operation using a strong working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems. They will utilize machine-level and OEM software for troubleshooting and repair, including Fanuc robots and controls, NC/CNC equipment, PLCs, and drive systems. Additionally, the role involves performing scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance on machines and equipment to support equipment reliability and uptime. The technician will read and interpret electrical and electronic schematics, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams, mechanical blueprints, equipment manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance tasks. This position also supports a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork, maintains assigned work areas in accordance with 6S standards, and actively participates in department and team housekeeping efforts. The role requires identifying and reporting abnormal conditions, safety concerns, and defective materials to leadership, and participating in training to continuously update technical skills.
