About The Position

Hartmann Canada Inc, a division of Hartmann North America and a world leader in moulded fibre egg cartons, is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for its Brantford, Ontario location. This role is responsible for overseeing shift maintenance operations with direct responsibility for hourly employees on the Afternoon Shift (3PM-11:30PM). The ideal candidate will have experience managing a team in a complex 24/7 facility, with a proven track record in team building, KPI management, and continuous improvement. This is a crucial role within the Maintenance department, requiring close collaboration with the Maintenance Manager and Operations team.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Maintenance within a manufacturing facility.
  • Previous experience supervising skilled trades.
  • Licensed as a Millwright and/or Electrician.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Automation is an asset.
  • Knowledge of ERP, CMMS and MRP systems.
  • Concrete experience in project management (asset).
  • Degree in Industrial Relations or other relevant education and/or maintenance work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control maintenance operations for maximum effective utilization of workers, equipment, facility, and materials, consistent with established cost and quality standards and in compliance with Company and Legislative policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
  • Maintain preventative maintenance schedules and contact vendors for necessary repair items.
  • Direct hourly workers to ensure compliance with company objectives.
  • Monitor production processes and initiate or implement corrective measures.
  • Participate in program development, safety, maintaining building and grounds, and equipment installation.
  • Communicate effectively to deal with a variety of issues in a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • Administer the Collective Agreement (if applicable), along with company policies/procedures, while resolving employee issues including progressive discipline.
