MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - Afternoons
About The Position
The Maintenance Technician role involves supporting preventative maintenance on sealers, setting up and operating machinery, lubricating parts, installing and replacing machine parts, transporting materials, managing inventory of machine parts and supplies, recording maintenance information, and performing general housekeeping and minor repairs throughout the facility. The position requires a commitment to customer service excellence, leading by example, and maintaining a positive attitude while adhering to all HR, operational, and food/health safety policies.
Requirements
- Completion of grade 12 or GED is required
- Mechanical abilities in order to help troubleshoot production issues
- Proven ability to follow all Health and Food safety standards in the facility
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to communicate any machinery breakdown, material concerns or shortages to maintenance, production supervisor or manager
Nice To Haves
- Completion of post-secondary or apprenticeship is preferred
- Previous experience using a CMMS is strongly preferred
- Must be comfortable working at heights at times
Responsibilities
- Supports preventative maintenance on the sealers
- Sets up and operates machine and adjusts controls that regulate operational functions to ensure conformance to specifications
- Lubricates, oils, or applies adhesive, or other material to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures
- Starts machine and observes mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect defects, malfunctions, or other machine damage
- Installs, replaces, or changes machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications
- Transports machine parts, tools, equipment and other material between work areas and storage, using crane, hoist, or dolly
- Inventories and requisitions machine parts, equipment, and other supplies to replenish and maintain stock
- Records and maintains production, repair, and machine maintenance information
- Reads work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance
- Performs general housekeeping tasks as well as small repairs throughout the facility and maintains building cosmetics at desired levels
- May be asked to perform other duties based on skills and qualifications
