About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for assisting the maintenance department with plant maintenance. This role involves performing necessary repairs of equipment, property, and the building, maintaining accurate communication with other mechanics and departments, and supporting basic functions of machinery and equipment. The mechanic will also effectively use electrical testing equipment, identify opportunities for improvement, and communicate those to a supervisor or lead person. Routine preventative maintenance (PM’s) on equipment will be initiated and conducted by the mechanic, either independently or with minimal supervision. Additionally, maintaining shop 6s policies and cleanliness is required.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to perform basic math skills including: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentage calculations
• Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English
• Ability to pass a Prove It test
• Have the ability to work with minimal direct supervision
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and abilities in order to analyze, evaluate, and solve mechanical problems
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience in the operation of maintenance power tools
• Knowledge of electric and mechanical procedures
• Flexibility to work weekends as needed

Nice To Haves

• Two years’ experience in maintenance field preferred
